It’s simple to get going using online faxes. Simple, just sign up for a free test drive with one of the top services & start enjoying the life of untethered faxes. You might want to try it from your computer first but that’s not really recommended. One, you have to have a phone line and two, it always has to be on and ready to receive. Besides, there are so many services at the $10 mark that it just makes sense to have an online fax number.

Whether sending a few pages or replacing that gigantic Ricoh machine, each service offers small plans that can expand as your company grows.

My favorite part about my fax number being online is the travel opportunities it opens up. I receive my mail via EarthClassMail.com and they send me notifications by email just like my faxes. This allows me to go wherever I want in the world and I have confidence that my emails, snail mail and faxes are all being handled appropriately. Think about it, your fax paper is always loaded. No paper jams, no toner spills or error messages and above all you are saving a few of our trees.

You receive faxes online through your email. A few of the companies have software to install to read your faxes but there is a growing trend toward the .tiff and .pdf formats. Computers come standard with the .tiff format and a .pdf reader is free from Adobe.com

If you want to add a signature to a fax the best way I have found is to use a product called Snag-it by techsmith. I open my autograph and then grab it with Ctrl+C. Then I open the doc needing a signature and simply apply it with Ctrl+V onto the area where I want to place it. Then I print to PDF using Primo PDF. This produces a new original PDF with my signature in place. Wave goodbye to printing, signing and scanning.

To choose which fax service is correct for you, you don’t have to look much further than www.fax-number.net. This is really the best place to start. They provide an easy to read comparison chart detailing the features, benefits and costs of each service.
